    Hey all,

I am trying to share the internet my laptop is receiving to my phone. I currently have the laptop connected by WIFI.

I successfully managed to create the Adhoc network (it's showing as active in Taskbar). However, there are 2 issues-- (1) The WIFI the laptop was connected to has disconnected. (2) The phone can't detect the Adhoc network.

Are those two issues related? And is it possible to create a working adhoc network if the host computer is on WIFI?

    Thanks!

Your wireless network adapter can only be in one of two modes at the same time: ad-hoc or infrastructure. If you want to share wifi over wifi you need 2 adapters. I guess there is some reason your phone can't connect directly to the wireless network that your laptop is using.

Your phone may not be able to connect to adhoc network. So getting another WiFi adapter to share the first wont work.

But, you could share Bluetooth internet. Try that.
