    Hey you guys!

I' was wondering if you could help me with a problem I'm having with the wifi connection of my laptop. Whenever I connect it to the power cable, the wifi connection slows down and if I disconnect it goes back to normal. Has anyone experienced this before? Any guesses?

    Thanks!!

It's an Acer Aspire 5920G, running Windows Vista Home, with an intel core duo, 2GB of RAM and wireless card Intel(R) Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN. Anything else?

You need to check you power management CP settings, and the advanced port properties. I sounds like it is lowering the power when on AC. Normally this happens on batteries.

In the power management section there's no specific mention to the wireless card, only if it should be Active or Inactive, which is already set as active. I don't quite get the advanced port properties. Could you give me a little hand on this?

Advanced port settings can be found under you network connection then select the port (wired). You can rt click on the Wired and/or wireless icon in the tray to get to properties if you have a icon there.

There was another user that was through here 2 week ago or so with the same problem. He found a setting was was not set to max power. I was thinking it was in the power management part. If not there the port properties.
