Hi this is my first post so i'm hoping someone can help. Recently when i switch my notebook on its taking between 5 and 10 minutes before it automatically connects to the network, it used to do it right away. Has anyone heard of this problem?
    Thanks

Can you please describe your system, router, wireless adapter, and OS, thanks.

PS: Other computers attached to the network?

Its the intel core 2 duo T7300 @2.00ghz 32 bit operating system on vista.
It has an intel pro wireless 3945ABG network connection.

This is the only device connected to the network.

Ok, so you have a DSL service, and you have a DSL/router from Netgear, and an Intel 3945ABG wireless adapter.

Now, does this delay also happens when you connect using the Ethernet port of the router?

It may sound stupid to ask this question because it would have been the first things you would focus on but here it is; do you remember what you did recently that could have affected the operation of the microwave link?

    - Did you update a driver?
    - Did you change some settings in the router?
    - Did you suffer a computer shutdown?
    - Did you install a new firewall?

Tries that and it cut it down to about 2.5 minutes which is an improvment.
