    Hi,

I'm making two of my friend's computers so they can access files from each other. He uses one for word processing and one for photo editing (don't ask me why he can't use the same machine - they're similar, good spec).

I've shared the hard disk on one computer, gone onto the other and accessed it, by typing the IP. The one problem is, when he tries to click on his documents it says "Access Denied" or something and doesn't even let him enter a password or anything.

Is there a better way of doing this or does he just have to use shared documents all the time? Is there any way of getting round this?

    Thanks very much,

    Matt. I

For starters, did u share the Entire Hard Disk (By Mapping his HDD) OR a folder on his disk?

    XP/.Vista?

EDIT: You'll need to check over the "Security" permissions on the shared entity. Maybe his username got deleted by mistake. And also ensure that he is the "Owner" under the security permissions.
