My job allows me to work from home occasionally. In OS X, I set up a connection to the company VPN. After logging on there, I use cmd+k to connect to the server, which is afp://ServerName. Once it connects, it prompts me for another login/password, which I enter and then go on my merry way.

I'd like to do the same thing in Windows 8.1 (not Pro if that makes a difference). For this, I connect to the VPN using Cisco's AnyConnect client (piece of garbage software, but it's the only thing that works). I then mapped a network folder to the server. I can access all my files and copy them to my computer. However, when I try to upload them, it gives me a permissions error. I think this stems from the fact that Windows doesn't prompt me for the secondary user ID and password that OS X does, but I can't figure out where to put that information.

    Any help is appreciated.
