anyone using this card? It's a AR5006EX based adapter. I'd like to know how's signal strength and can make it working on 108m by installing generic driver?

here's the weird thing, my AR5006EXS' PCI ID is 168c:1014, the same as the IBM 11a/b/g Wireless LAN Mini PCI Adapter II (from thinkwiki, 168c atheros, 1014 IBM). So my adapter is from IBM or Lenovo? but why does the stupid 1802 error bump out?

I'm now desperate to look for the PCI ID and SUBSYS of the Thinkpad 11a/b/g MINI-PCI E adapter, wonder what's the difference of the SUBSYS

No difference there. IBM and HP made their notebooks in a way that rejects any mini-PCI card not made by respectively IBM and HP. They say it's for better compatibility, and just omit the fact that mini-PCI made by IBM is more expensive than identical made by someone else.
There is some way to hack this thing but I don't know any details.

EDIT: Just noticed a thread about it on the forum. Look there.

Please mind that new HP laptops use better method than old HP/IBMs.
I didn't research into it and can't confirm that these problems are identical.
Just keep in mind that there is kind of "protection" that can be removed.

I'v read this article. The phoenix bios editor can not upack the bios.bak file on my T60P, it always stuck on 'bioscode' unpacking. I have no linux,
    http://www.tpuser.idv.tw/articles/z60-test-4.htm
this article is in traditional chinese, but there's a picture of the AR5BXB6, I think that IS the Thinkpad 11a/b/g Mini PCI-E adapter. and my AR5006EXS card looks exactly the same of this, and the single-chip are the same: AR5424

I asked some one in Taiwan who using the AR5BXB6, they all said It's much better than the 3945, although it could be hotter than 3945 on their X60
here's also a link to a simple review in chinese

I still havn't solved the 1802 error with the 'AR5006EXS' on my T60p.
but after I downloaded the driver of the Lenovo Thinkpad 11a/b/g wireless adapter (AR5006EX). I found these in the driver inf:

ATHER.DeviceDesc.001C = "11a/b/g Wireless LAN Mini PCI Express Adapter"
    ; Gwinnett
    %ATHER.DeviceDesc.001C% = ATHER_DEV_4013, PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_1014&SUBSYS_058A1014

    and my 'AR5006EXS' is 168c 1014 058a 1014...IT IS THE SAME...

So my card is from Lenovo (?), and it's a AR5006EX. but wtf with the 1802 error, Or the ThinkPad 11a/b/g Wireless LAN Mini-PCI Express Adapter is not Compatible with T60P. But according to this page
    http://www-131.ibm.com/webapp/wcs/st...86018425101115

    ....I'm confused

Are Thinkpads not a PhoenixBios? firstbios, etc.
So, how does one decompile a bios.bak or the fl1/fl2 files?
