I'm interested in this device but it's hard to find any end user comments about it. I've used routers, but I'm not sure what an AP can do. I've always thought that an AP have to be connected via a router to the internet. Abit seems to be saying that WAD-01B can connect to internet directly.

1 - Do you have any comments, or a link to share?

2 - In general, is it possible to connect a wireless AP like this(not via any router)? Yes/No/Depends on model?

    [Internet]――――(wired)――――[Wireless Access Point] - - - - (wireless) - - - -[PC]

Any help would be appreciated. :)

Edit: I forgot the product link.

Looks like the abit is connected to the modem like a router would be,I'm wondering (it says in AP mode)if it just a router?Or is there some different type of software/setting that is uses to act as an AP and connect to the internet?Interesting none the less.

Well I've checked the manual, but I'm still not sure. As I've said, I dunno anything about AP's. But the manual shows settings for DHCP, Gateway... just like any router.

I don't think so most AP's have to connected to a router, hub or switch. I could be wrong though.
