I know this question has likely been answered here a dozen time. I have gone thru the first 20 pages of threads and have not found my answer so here goes. I hope someone can help me. I have a brand new Dell Studio laptop with a built in AT&T wireless broadband card installed. I have an existing AT&T broadband account that was accessed thru a Sierra Class II pc card. I have taken the sim card out of the pc card and put it in the new laptop. The laptop sees the sim card and when you click the detail button it reports the correct card details, but the wireless card will not work unless you go thru an activation process which sets up a new AT&T account.

How can I activate the wirless card without going thru the account setup?

Now, I am over 45 so please go slow.

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Call At&T customer service, and have the device ID/serial ready. I activated an aircard I bought off eBay this way.

Is the Dell Mobile Broadband Utility giving you any error messages?

Which AT&T aircard did you have prior?

Call AT&T and have them change the IMEI number in billing.
