OK, I bought a D-Link adapter and a D-link Router. There is a cable that runs from my DSL Router to the Wireless Router.

And another cabel runs from thewireless router to my main desktop PC which doesn't have any wireless capability. I installed the adapter into that main desktop PC. Hopefully all is well so far.

Now, I booted up my Dell 600m and it seems to finds 2 wireless signals, one of which I think is mine. One maybe another office near me? How do I know for sure?
When I try to connect to the internet on what I think is my wirelss connection, I can't. When I try it on the other network that I think is someone elses, it connects.

I'm about ready to call for some help, but I thought I'd ask first.

Do I need a network cable connected to the laptop? Should I install another adapter on the notebook and use it instead of the included one? Would appreciate your help.

    Thanks,

    Gary

Change the SSID of your wireless network to something else other than the default. Change it to something you can identify/differentiate fom the other networks.
