    I am trying to decide between the intel 6300 and the 6230 cards, the latter including bluetooth. I seek advice:

    How useful is bluetooth today? Is it dying?
    How 'good' is the bluetooth on this card?
    Reading through the thread comparing the 6200 and 6300, I've found the 6300 is only slightly better and in few cases. Does the 6230 have the same capabilities as the 6200, or does the bluetooth somehow impair the card?

    The price difference is negligible.

    BT won't affect the card in any way.
    If it's useful or not depends on your usage pattern. You may need it to sync your smartfone with outlook or transfer files/settings (also usually smartfone thing) it may also be useful if you plan on buying a BT mouse or a BT headset for VoIP.
    I've never had BT because I didn't need it- now it looks like it may be more convenient to use BT for smartfone than a USB cable.
    Luckily it's pretty cheap and easy to retrofit (although the latter depends on a notebook)

    Just get the 6300, I always get Bluetooth built into my Thinkpads and honestly right now it's disabled and never was even actvated. I actually have a BT mouse and my phone and headset all use Bluetooth but i've just not used those features in so long that i just disabled it and left it off.

    If you do use Bluetooth regularly then get the other card obviously. :)
