Hey everyone, I just got a Draytek 2820n. The router is set to give out an N,G,A signal however I only see it as G with my m1330 and Intel 4965n. What do I need to do in order to connect using the N band?

P.S. I went to intels site and downloaded the latest drivers and it still doesnt work.

    Thanks!

EDIT: This was done with encryption off. I know that you need WPA2 with AES as encryption which i couldnt find on my router. though I found PSK.... wonder what that is

Make sure you have the right wireless mode settings on your wireless adapter.

Wireless N specs are not finalised so N equipment from one manufacturer is not guaranteed to work with another

Um, no. While it's true that the final N isn't completed, draft N can essentially be considered a standard in and of itself. I have the 4965, and have been able to connect to all N networks I've come across.

Check your router settings, and your wireless card settings. I had the same problem on my router, but got it working after some tweaks to security. N doesn't work with WEP encryption, only WPA.

Make sure you both are on the same bandwidth 2.4ghz (g) or 5ghz (A,N). And see if both is in 40ghz for 11n or force it to 20ghz (should be def).

If it does not take reboot the router and NB to flush it's brains of the old settings.

Under my 4965 properties I changed 802.11n channel width to 20 mhz however when I changed 802.11n Width for band 5.2 to 20mhz. I didnt detect any networks. Also under wireless mode is set for 6. which is a/b/g. There is no n option. Is that right?

I couldnt find any settings in the router except 2.4ghz channel 6. (which is like 24162 or something). Anything else to try? Thanks!

(the router is set to give off b,g,n)

Make sure you reboot the router and nb after any changes. It also don't hurt to delete the location and add it back if it fails while your trouble shooting.

Have you contacted your router manufacturer? Certainly they provide support for new equipment?

Talk to your router's tech support. They can help.

Each router manufacture has different default setting.
