Good evening all, I have just received my laptop and started to get it really sorted out and back to how I like it. Have purchased the laptop with Advanced N adapter and have a BT Home Hub, the HomeHub is set at 130mbps and the laptop is showing 130 physical link layer but i'm getting a physical throughput of 4-5mbps when transfering from my Gigabit NAS drive to my laptop. Is this as fast as I can get these transfers to go or am i missing something? I tried to get netstumbler working and netstumbler won't recognise my adapter so I can't see what channels the other 8 wireless AP's are using in my building.

Any help in regards to this would be fantatic thank you.

    Use this instead of netstumbler.
What speeds are you getting while downloading from the net or taking speedtest?

So does it really take less time to download the same file from the net than from your own NAS?
It's not the matter of wireless connection since it can go faster than 5mbps which you've proved by taking speedtest (assuming it's been done wirelessly)
It's gotta be something with the settings that slows down the NAS.

Just bought an up to 300mbps router from Netgear and the physical link layer is showing a 300mbps connection. Im now transferring over my nas to my laptop at between 6-7MB/sec
