A few questions that I have been trying to determine for some time.

    1. What is the best way to get the dust out of a laptop? Mainly acer ones, they are usually the name brand we use.

    2. Can excessive dust in a laptop really slow down program performance that much?

    3. At my home, I'm paying for a 20MB download connection. If I have a laptop hooked up to my linksys wireless router and itÂ’s the only computer on. Should I get the full 20MB or will I get about 80% of that since I'm going through a router?

    4. Would it be better to just use an ethernet cable or wireless for overall speed reliability?

    1. Just open up the panels on the bottom and blast air in there and also into the ventilation ports to loosen up anything in there.

    2. If your CPU throttles due to heat then yes.

    3. You'll get full 20mbit speeds granted your wireless signal quality allows for that.

    4. YES

i second what arfett says. but for 1 dont use a air compressor cuz that might blow moist air from the surroundings into the mb and that might cause rusting. use a pressured air canister you can find at a local h/w store. or open up the case of the laptops and vacuum the inside fans etc.

vacuum? i've heard some stories about dead notebooks after using a vacuum cleaner, and it wasn't urban legends. (static electricity.) pressured air canister is definitely a better idea. ;)
