    hello,
i have dell latitude e6220 notebook with internal (minipci) unlocked "dell wireless 5550" 3g modem (what is actually rebranded Ericsson F5521gw apparatus).
i was baffled about dell solution: 400mb installer, dependent on net 3.5. what a bloat for such small task?

so, my question is: for windows xp, may anybody suggest a simple, decent, lightweight and compact "network manager" or "connection manager" to configure and manage 3g dial-up connections?

    something was found via google:
    windows connection manager: dunno :/
3G Modem Internet Dialer don't work
MWconn maybe works, but tooo complicated
3g modem manager probably won't work, russian interface

Windows has it's own dialup system, use it. All you need is drivers that show the 3G card as a modem. Most of them work like that anyways.

Make a new dialup connection using that modem and call to number *99# (that tells the modem to start data connection). That should be enough.

    Edit: forgot APN.
AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","GPRS.APN" in the modem properties, "Extra Initialization commands" field. Replace GPRS.APN with your providers APN.
