In the summer i'll be going to Menorca for some celebrations.
I want to use 3G internet whilst i'm there. Now, i've read that Vodafone is the only 3G operator in Spain.

I was wondering would a UK 3G sim work in Menorca or should i look to buy another sim? Getting hold of these PAYG ES (Espana) sims is difficult. I just plan to top up on the Vodafone website if possible.

I wonder what coverage is like in Menorca also?

Also, are there any other operators that i could use for PAYG 3G internet.

Vodafone is not the only 3G operator in Spain.
First of all- Telefonica Movistar offers 3G and so does Spanish division of Orange.
Using UK 3G could be very pricey. I'm not sure how it looks exactly in your network but I'm afraid roaming charges would be high.
BTW have a nice stay- Spain is my favourite country (as long as I'm not in a hurry trying to get things done immediately ;) )

    Thank you downloads
I bought 3 Telefonica Movistar cards for me and others that have €5 of credit on them. We won't be there for that long but i think i will still try and top them up before i go.
By any chance do you know the connection settings?

Hey Rachel, yeah those should be the right settings to configure for your connection. As for coverage I'm pretty sure it will be great considering the fact that Telefonica-Movistar is the biggest operator of Spain, with like 97% coverage. By the way I hope you don't need fast connection, AFAIK 3G internet is pretty slow around here. Well yeah, I've only used Vodafone 3G but I assume they're all the same, performance-wise.

Never use UK SIM abroad, as it is considred as roaming, your piggybacking off foreign networks... also if you had a Sony Erricson or Sierra Wireless WWAN card you would not have to worry about the settings, as they will be automatically selected for you... :D
