Hello. I just did a speed test and it read 234mb/s dl and 11mb/s upload. I'm hard wired. My brother in the next room is also hard wired (Ethernet cable is really long) but his speed test is showing 70mb/s dl and 2mb/s upload.

I found this odd. I thought maybe it was the cable so I put his cable into mine and I still got the same speed of 234mb/s.

What could be causing this? Both of our wireless connections are turned off since we're hard wired. We both run the same os. We both use different laptops (his a 2nd gen i7, mine a 1st gen). I have a gaming gpu but his is just an integrated card.
