    Here is my network setup

The routers are both Dlink WBR-2310's

The reason for the upstairs router is to get better wireless coverage, and to split the single ethernet cable running upstairs into 2 for the vostro and the 360. The problem is that if you connect threw the upstairs modem, you have no internet access. Although if you directly connect the ethernet cable running upstairs into the laptop or xbox it works fine. What am i doing wrong?

Turn off DHCP/NAT on the second floor router and connect the feed from the 1st floor to a lan port and not WAN/Internet. This way the second router will work like a switch, expanding your system.

Yep. Thats exactly the configuration we've got going here at my house (university students). 6 guys all on the same internet connection. We eat bandwidth up at an incredible pace.
