You need a internet service provider (high speed lan) then wireless router

Or, you can pick up somebody else's wireless around college campus, coffee shop, or if lucky around your neighbors and use the connection (which is what I do :D )

Which is illegal and can land you in a boat load of legal trouble. Congrats to admitting to the theft of your neighbors property. Just wait until you receive a summons for your actions.

You can not steal your neighbors internet. It is unsafe, and illegal. To get wireless in your home you need high speed internet (cable, dsl, etc), and a wireless router.

    congrats on the gift :)

well I was planning on getting an airlink router but no one seems to be posting in my thread about whether or not it is a good brand for routers. I currently use a linksys but its an B - band. Kinda old.

Your probably loooking for a wireless g or wireless n router

is the topic about my issue.

Airlink wireless N router is 30$

Check on smallnetbuilders.com they test routers. If I recall they did some testing on some cheap routers to see how the faired. Some were very good.
