I just have a simple question, but I can't seem to find the answer on this forum yet (the fact that you have to wait in between searches for 15 seconds isn't also really helping!)

When specifications state a laptop has 3G/3.5G Antenna support or a 3G/3.5G module, does this laptop then has a SIM card slot?

And when a laptop has this 'GOBI' mobile broadband thingie, what does it mean exactly? The same?

Yes 3G module/modem means the laptop has a sim card slot- that applies also to GOBI.
