    Hi Friends

I've got a Wireless UTSTARCOM WA3002G4 ADSL Modem Router, I've bought one Belkin N+ Wireless Router. Now I want to use UTstarcom modem router as a wired modem only & want this belkin n+ to handle everything on my network as it has got wifi n and gigabit lan.

Kindly suggest how to do that??

    My thinking goes like this:
I should switch off the wifi of Utstarcom modem router & disable its DHCP. Now I should connect the cable from RJ45/ LAN port of utstarcom to modem (port provided extra, besides 4 ethernet ones) port of belkin n+, enable the DHCP of belkin n+ and connect my other wired & wireless devices to it.

Please comment wether I'm right or wrong. If wrong how I should go for it.

    Urgent help required..

Can you get into the configuration of the UTSTARCOM and change it to bridging mode? If so, that's what you want to do. Otherwise, just turn off the UTSTARCOM's wireless and plug it into the Belkin, and set them to different DHCP networks. You'll be running through 2 layers of NAT, but not much you can do about that if the UTSTARCOM won't do bridging.

Using a Belkin router as your main router could be a chalenge. I have yet to find one that works reliablity, After 6 I gave up.

You can have your belkin work as a switch, wired and wireless. You need to turn off dhcp on the belkin. Connect your main router to a Lan port. You can but not required is to assign a static IP to the belkin. Then turn on remote admin access. This will allow access to it from the main router. But in your case you will be using the belkin as the main router for internal use, remote access not needed. You do give up one of our lan ports using it as aswitch though.
