    Hello,
I have a asus k53sv that came with a intel centrino n100 wifi card and it has recently been giving me some issues, from latency (which apparently is not uncommon) and now the most annoying is that sometimes it just doesn't connect or find any networks, like it just shuts down but is still listed and active on the device manager. This happens especially after i "wake up" the laptop and i have to remove and re install the card on the device manager.

I have tried newer and older drivers, using the intel software and not using it, so i don't know what else to try. Anyone knows what this can be or if there is a fix?

Since it has been giving me problems i have been considering changing the wifi card but im not sure if it would be compatible. I was looking at the intel 5100, since it has more speed and dual band ( altough not really a big deal for me), but its the one that turns out the cheapest for me. However i have been reading that some people have connection problems. Is that really that common? Should i stay away from that wifi card?

    Thank you!

    Hi,
I had a different question with this thread that i now changed because it seems that my problem comes from windows, but the original post is above in spoiler tag.

Im having issues with wifi, where the laptop (asus k53sv with win 7 64bit) stops recognizing networks after i "wake it" from suspension. The wifi card shows in the device manager and i have tried different drivers, trying with the intel wifi software and without, but the problem persistis ( its a intel n100 wifi card).
So everytime i wake up the computer i have to go and reinstall the drivers on device manager so windows realizes that the wifi card is supposed to work. I thought this was the n100 problem but im using a usb wifi adapter and im experiencing the same thing.

Anyone knows what it can be or how to fix this? If you need more info on the system/hardware let me know.

    Thank you!
