    [HELP] cisco vpn client cannot start on vista

    hi..i installed vpnclient-win-msi-5.0.01.0600-k9 on my vista premium(my laptop is hp dv2201tx)...but everytime i start the vpn client.. it said "Error 56: The Cisco Systems, Inc VPN Service has not been started. Please start this service and try again" i can't even load the vpn client..sometimes.after i reboot the system.the vpn can start but sometimes cannot..i have kaspersky anvirus (6.0.2.614)...do u think..its because of the anti virus..i tried to dissable the kaspersky,windows firewall and windows defender..but it is the same...what its really bug me is sometimes it's work..but when i need it..i wont work....can you guys help me?? thanks

    Another security feature of Vista. Have you checked to see if there is an updated version from sisco?

    i already intalled the newest vpn client..but still the same..do u think its because of my OS? because i read there's also some people who success with the program...but i dont know if he use vista premium,,business or ultimate

    You probably need to turn User Account Control off. Start->Control Panel (Classic View Preferred)->Users and you'll find the option somewhere around there.

    i already turn the user account control off.. but its still wont load

    I have it working fine on my computer. I am using an older version that my school gave me however. 4.8.02.0010 to be exact. Where did you find the newer one? I might try it out and post back.

    the link is http://dux.no/Cisco-vpn/Vista/vpnclient-win-msi-5.0.01.0600-k9.exe .. i will try the version you use..but i dont think it will be solve my problem..i tried using several version that works with vista..but still bummer

    no..32 bit..vista home premium,..which vista do u have? i want to try to reinstall the vista..but i'm to lazy to back up all my mp3 and photos...and my vista is pre-installed on my pc ..how bout you? do u fresh installed it your self...upgrade from xp? or pre installed like mine?
