    Please reply with any suggestions.

The printouts from my Wi-Fi enable laptop are coming out blank. I am using my PC as the print server by sharing the printer. I am able to talk to the printer, but every page I print out from the laptop is blank. What could be worng?

My network setup is as follows:

    PC (Windows XP)
Lexmark Z600 inkjet printer hardwired to my PC via USB.
Linksys WRT54G router (Ethernet cable to PC)
    Laptop (Windows Vista)

I am guessing I might have to install updated printer drivers to the Laptop (Vista), but I also thought about if the router has to be configured in someway. The printer ink is ok as I am able to print out fine from the hardwired PC.

I tried to google this, but haven't been able to find anything. Please advise.

    Arley

Your router/internet connection is not an issue. If you can communicate with the printer from your laptop and it prints the blank page you do not have a connection issue to worry about.

I would recommend checking your drivers on the printer that is installed on the XP machine. Those drivers may be entirely sufficient for the Microsoft XP printer to print using them, but may not neccessarily be the drivers needed for the Vista machine to communicate with it.

    I would try the following:

    1. Remove the Printer on the Vista laptop

    2. Update the to the latest printer drivers on your XP PC. I would recommend entering your model number at this site.

    3. Add the network printer on your Vista laptop again and try printing.

If this prints you are in good shape. There is a list of Vista drivers at this site and it does show the Z600 series as being support on Vista with the latest drivers.

If you still have trouble I would recommend e-mail or calling Lexmark to see what they say. I bet it is a very common question.

Personally I have this exact same set-up with the exception of a different printer (mine is an HP All-In-One) and all I had to do was get the latest drivers on my XP machine and it worked fine.
