Are you trying to downgrade from Vista? How about try running in safe mode?

You can install XP. As far as I know, you have to reformat the hard drive. Use dban. Search google, it's free. Burn the dban iso image to a CD, and leave it in the drive. Shut the computer down, (assuming you have your personal data backed up) and restart. Dban will start on boot. Run it. It takes a while, depending on hard drive size. When done, swap the dban disc with the XP disc. Install XP. All the XP drivers you need are on MSI's site.
I have the GX630. I went from Vista x86 to Vista x64 with no problems. I had to delete the partition and format the drive. Vista has that feature built into the install though. I believe XP does not. It's been a while since I installed XP on a system. I hope this helps you.

No, you don't have to format with Vista if you're going to XP. Do you have your optical drive set as 'first' in the boot sequence? Have you updated your BIOS? Does it even boot to the BIOS screen?

    1. Make sure AHCI is disabled because you are downgrading from Vista.
    2. It might be your memory, try one stick at a time and see if one gives you blue screen or not.
