have now idea what happened. restarted after updating the video drivers and now i get the power light and the scroll lock and caps lock on and fans spinning and nothing more. im trying to find a cmos battery
edit fixed...man oh man i hope that doesnt happen again need to clear cmos and start over if this happens..

no this one was not even that machine. that is mine. the wife still has the 6 cell in hers right now. the 9 cell she has at work. not sure what it was. the system is fine now. i cleared the cmos and reinstalled vista just to be sure. my system has the 9 cell and is perfectly fine.

no that battery works perfectly charges fine and runs great. i love that thing. i got over an hour more on normal use out of it

lol yeah the other 2 are fine. not sure why this one did this. so far since the reinstallation it has been fine now? so i dont know. if it does it again ill check ram and other things next.

Probibally just a glitch in windows, causing some odd failure in the bios maybe?

yup. its fine now. its been running all day long without a single issue. though the newest nvidia drivers suck on these imo
