hi, im a noob that just have bought a gx640 and been reading this thread and would be very grateful if someone could explain this questions to me.

    * I like to install catalyst 10.5 do i have to update vbios first or?

    * there is two different firmware files, "nb vga firmware" and "nb camera/vga/ec firmware" do i need both or just one?

    * On the msi download page there is info about ecall.bat for firmware but it doesnt seem to work for win 7 64 edition. How should i flash the bios then?

    thx in advance!

I would hold off on flashing the vbios until an official release.

You don't need the new vbios beta to install 10.5 drivers. Just uninstall the old ones then install the new ones. Make sure you get the mobility radeon drivers and not the desktop ones and make sure you uninstall the old ones first before trying to install the new ones.

*ATI drivers are drivers take your pick
*If they're discontinuing the GX640(as in another thread) then what ever Firmware to upgrade to might be your only option, if you actually need to do it.
*good question, might even be relevant.
