    You can refer to this for technical specs (I hope this helps you): MSI Global - Computer, Laptop, Notebook, Desktop, Mainboard, Graphics and more

    You will need to shop around online for pricing, but to answer some basic questions for you:

    You can use an i7 - 1st generation;

    You can upgrade up to 8GB of RAM @ 1066MHz;

    You CAN use both hard drives, but only if you either use an eSATA drive or replace the optical drive with the SSD you want (you can find "how-to" guides for installing a SSD into an optical drive bay).

    Some questions I'm not 100% sure of, so I'll leave them to those who are more experienced with the gx740.

    You can upgrade to 16GB 1333MHz RAM (2x8GB SO-DIMM).

    You can put Clevo 6970M, Clevo 7970M in (I have). You will need to modify the cooling system of the laptop and use a small program to control the fan speed manually. All knowledge is here on NBR.

    A 180W PSU is a must for the GPU upgrades.

    You can replace just about any of those components. But if you don't have the technical knowledge to do it, it's recommended you don't do it. There are however a number of guides that can help you; some are written, some are videos with step by step instructions.

    But if your unit is under warranty and you want to do this yourself - or have a third party professional do it - then expect your warranty to be void thereafter.
