    hello,
    i have been searching around for a new laptop and the msi s270 really stands out to me...but then i keep hearing of problems with it...
    i plan to run it as a 32 bit untill windows vista

    by the way it is under $900 and includes a processor(MT-30), hdd(40gb), os(XP) and ram(256mb but i have a 512 stick in hand)

    WSoD issues have not been reported in units running lower clocked Turions such as the MT-30. You should be ok.

    Is it necesary to update the BIOS and Graphics drivers all the time?
    i ask simply because i dun know nor have done this to my current emachines laptop

    There are problems with it running on xp x64 with drivers not working I couldnt get video or any drivers to install. Vista 64 seems to work better.
