    thinking about purchasing a gx-640: temps?

    Can anybody give me some temperature numbers for the gx-640? Thanks!

    just underclock it when idling and don't worry about max temps because they never go above 90 just barely near it.

    I idle around 320 degrees while underclocked, max at about 363 degrees while playing SC2 for extended sessions.

    The GPU, that is.

    Wow, I'm surprised your laptop hasn't melted yet. :)
    EDIT2: unless those temps are in Kelvin.....?

    With an ambient temp of 34C, mine idles at 68C for the memIO, 66C for dispIO. At full load, I've hit as high as 98C for memIO, and around 91 for dispIO.

    With the air-conditioning on (ambient temp of 22-24C), it idles at 63C for memIO and 61C for dispIO. At load, I get around 94C for memIO, and 87 for dispIO.

    I've ordered a laptop cooler but won't arrive till the end of July. I'm hoping it can knock down the temps by 4-5C.

    EDIT: I would like to add that those temps are with the 10.6 catalyst drivers. They seem to run hotter than the 10.5s by 2-3C.
