i have few dead pixels that bother the hell out of me on this laptop. i have spare gateway laptop that is also 15.6 inch 1366x768 lcd screen that has zero stuck or dead pixel. is it possible to take lcd panel from gateway laptop and put it on my gt660? do i must use lcd panel from msi that is specifically made for this laptop or can i use any same size lcd panel?

What is the model of that Gateway, because it's obvious that it's not the one from your signature? :)
GT660 comes with LED backlit screen, so if your Gateway has such display and it is 15.6'' most probably it will fit. To be able to tell you just write the model :)

O, I didn't see from the beginning ... MSI GT660 is not 15.6" it is 16.0", therefore you can't replace them. See here and here.

does this look like dead pixel to u? it seems like dead pixel to me. it's hard to see on video(center dot) but i see this black(dark gray, i don't know) dot regardless what background color i put. i see it on red, blue, yellow, white, black background. i have 2 of these. these aren't fixable, are they? i can't stop looking at them and that's the reason i want to change my lcd panel. i ran stuck pixel videos for hours and tried press, tapping method too but no luck so far.

It is not exactly dead pixel, it's more like a stuck one and stuck pixels are fixable 50:50. I mean that no one can tell you will it be fixed or not. Theoretically it is fixable after running those patterns (for unknown time) you already have run. I do agree it is annoying. If it was me I would also search for a new screen. And yes, there are Full HD screens for GT660. You can ask @ RKComputers for price and for the screen exactly, because the site I quoted earlier shows that Full HD screen of GT660 is 15.6", which I think is mistake in the description.

If you have a 15.6" model or a 16" model GX660 or GT660 you can swap the screen either way. 15.6"-16" or 16" to 15.6". The LCD cover is the same on both models (15.6" & 16"), you will need to change R & L LCD Brackets, LCD Bezel, and LCD cable to convert to either screen.

You need to verified the pin socket, pin connector, type of screen (CCFL or LED), and screen size. If you can find a matching type then there a 99.9% that it should work.

What kind of laptop are you trying to replace the screen with?
