Did anyone with a 1022 recieve their notebook with a dead or stuck pixel?

Mine was shipped with a dead pixel. Then it was replaced and now it has
    a stuck pixel.
I have tried stuck pixel fixers, but no luck
I am now unhappy with the msi service.

A single dead pixel? It's well within every single manufacturer's warranty, other than the higher-cost laptops like Asus's Ensembles.

I'm not sure what you expected when buying a barebones or built-on system, but the dead pixel warranty allows 5 dead pixels on a 14" screen.

At no point does MSI promise a perfect LCD (nor does any manufacturer unless specifically stated up front and used as a selling point). Dead pixels can also develop with time, which is why most policies also only cover the first year or so, and the "no dead pixel" policies only cover the first 15-30 days after you receive your system.

So what you are getting at is you have 1 stuck pixel and you are unhappy with that which I understand, but where is this pixel at? Dead center of the screen or far right corner? This happens to many people and is even something that can develope over time. 2 months out of warranty and a pixel dies on you...what do you do? WHAT DO YOU DO? (sorry speed reference). Also the stuck pixel may go away with time. A Dell B130 I setup for my wifes work had a stuck pixel and after about 3.5weeks it was gone. Tested it with multiple backgrounds and it is gone, and it may come back. I guess what I am saying is you could keep sending back for the perfect screen but that screen may not be so perfect in a year or 2. Also most manufacturers have a dead pixel policy of at least 5 or mor dead pixels, so you can try to get a replacement or learn to live and hope it goes away.

    thanks for the input.
I do understand that this is a small problem, but I edit film and photos
i also build websites. I am very precise so one pixel does have an affect
    on my work.
Also I am unhappy because it happened twice and yes this was a brand new
purchase so I would asume that it would be sent to me in working order, but
    i guess I was wrong.
Both times I recieved the notebook It came to me with a malfuctioned pixel.
One dark and now one always lit.
I have had many LCD's before and this is the first time I have had a malfuctioned Pixel. I am starting to regret choosing MSI

I have three problems so far with them

    1. the pixel problem
    2. sound skips when executing full screen visualization for music.
    3. The Systems Control Manager for MSI only works for an Admin

I have done everything i have found to fix these problems, so now I am
    just dealing with it.
I feel like i have bought a used notebook.
    thanks

I think the intent of our posts was that while a pixel death is unfortunate, it's not uncommon, nor is it part of the system guarantee. The fact that pixels also die with time should also be considered. It doesn't take away from the fact that it sucks to have one.

How often are you jumping from minimize to full screen during music play? Is any of that related to your work in film editing? How long does the skip last? Is it only with certain apps?

You may be more of a demanding computer user, so issues like the ones you list that don't seem like a big deal to us may be a huge problem for you. Do you have security settings at your work that prohibit you from being an Admin user, or do you have other people using your system on a different permission?

You do realize that MSI doesn't manufacture LCDs? They buy from LCD manufacturers just like almost every other notebook manufacturer. You can browse any notebook forum and any manufacturer, you will find users with dead pixels, it's just a fact of manufacturing. A sucky fact, for sure.

Your pixel problem, as many have already stated, is VERY common to ALL manufacturers. You could order the best, most expensive notebook ever, and it still may have a bad pixel. You roll the dice on that one without a procedure for dead pixel replacement.

As far as the other problems...I have none of those. It's just a matter of finding the right mix of drivers and programs. It takes a little fanagling, but it can be done.

I love my 1022. Extremely happy with the purchase. I was hoping for no bad pixels...didn't find any, but if I did I knew it was a very possible thing. LCD is not a perfect technology by any means.
