hi i have been reading up about overclocking on here think i've got a good idea of what i am doing. but would like to know what sort of performance gains should i expect.
i have the hd 5870m stable at 775/1050 . memIO temps never above 91.5c is this ok ?
looking to oc cpu using method i see on here using set fsb/throttlestop but what sort of increase could i see by oc'ing i5 450m to 3ghz ?
also what is safe temps for cpu ?
    really appreciate any help

Safe temps for GPU is about 95C. Safe temp for CPU is around 80C.

I OC my GPU to 920/1080 and it's about 92C max on memIO.
I also OC my CPU to 3.1GHz but it never goes above 70C.

You can expect gains in games that depend more on the CPU, i.e. some places in just cause 2, BC2, etc.

you have to use throttlestop otherwise the CPU tends to... throttle the frequency to a lower one under load.

It's only used for increasing the TDP, nothing else.
