    So, I've been looking for a new laptop (obviously, at the amount of threads i post lol) and was wondering how this laptop fits. I want it for gaming, but also college. I was hooked on the sager np8130, but was sad that it didn't come with a back-lit keyboard. The msi does have the keyboard, and was wondering if any owners could tell me how portable this laptop is? Thanks!

    No, lots of people have some version of the GT780R. Maybe try asking in the GT780R Owners Lounge. Or just read some of the posts there. I'm sure you'll get an idea about peoples opinions on portability.

    the GT780's are the same size.

    They are 17" notebooks, so if you consider that portable, then they are.

    You cant really compare between the 2 since gt780 is 17" while np8130 is 15.6". Look at the gt683 instead. Or if you need to have backlit keyboard, consider asus g53 series.

    They have the same stuff inside, it's just the portability & keyboard.
