i bought toshiba SSHD 1TB (MQ01ABD100H) the only way i can make it work is by pressing F11 and selecting toshiba drive to boot. after that i can see it in bios, reboot do everything and windows works fine, but after shut down it is gone again in bios too.

is it the same problem as with SSD and would modified bios for that isue would help to fix my isue with gx660?

p.s. i have latest msi bios according msi site. sshd is fine tested it on my old and trusted samsung r560 works fine there.

That's a new one. I would start with updating the firmware on the drive, if there is an update available. To answer your question

It shouldn't be a problem with any drive unless there is a defect.

Toshiba can't help me, there are no firmware or drivers to help me.

MSI support is as horrible as described in meny forums. Final word from MSI is that they haven't tested my laptop with SSD so they are not going to provide any solution.

the only solultion as i see is looking for modified bios.
i see laptops like mine for sale (used ones) with sshd so it should be possible to make it work. maybe only toshiba sshd does not work with it?

if some one has msi gx660 working with SSHD please share how you made SSHD work with it? and what SSHD you use?

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

my sshd works now modified bios helped, i used majester msi bios, but i think UltraGSM bios wloud work too.
i had to change sata settings from RAID to AHCI in bios only then windows started to load from sshd, from original hdd windows was loading fine without changing anything in bios.

    this link my help you
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/msi...-msi-unlocked-bios-xmp-support-thread-40.html

link to instructions to updte bios
    http://www.msi.com/files/pdf/How_to_make_a_bootable_flash_disk_and_to_flash_BIOS_en.pdf

for UltraGSM you will need 3 files from original msi 30L bios download, just change bios file in original set an follow instruction in the link above. majester msi bios had all files need.

thanks for this site, because MSI are useless.
