when i use hdmi out to play a game (frets on fire X) on my 52" 1080p aquos, it plays very laggy but without it hooked it up to the tv it plays perfectly fine. I tried playing it on lower resolutions than 1080p and still laggy. Any help is appreciated.

My bet is the TV is lagging behind slightly because of its picture-improvement systems. Try to disable such systems in the TV's menu and see if it helps.
