    Heya people,

Once again i hope to gain some wisdom from this place ;)

I have the GX740 for a couple of months now and it is working just fine until i discovered something new the last few days.

My girlfriend and i bought a new TV and thus we connect it to my laptop to watch movies.
Problem however is that when it is connected i get "zapped" by my computer if i did not touch it for a bit of time.

It's seems to be a very small electrical burst and only happens when hdmi is
    connected.
When my external mouse is connected, i have to reconnect the mouse to make it work again.

Any idea as to why this might happen and how to solve it?

ps. This night i will try a different television to see if the cause might be there.

Are you charging your laptop off a power bar? Use a grounded plug and see if you get the same issue.

Something's not grounded correctly. Are you using an adapter to plug a three-prong plug into a two-prong outlet?

Anyway, by what you're describing it sounds like there's some kind of charge building up in/on/around your laptop and when you touch it you make a circuit. Uh, be sure to have your important data backed up.

Thanks for the responses guys but i seem to have solved it.
I bought a different cable and now the problem is gone.

Yet with the old cable and the ps3 there is no problem.
Strange but im happy it has bin solved.

Btw i use the power adaptor that came with the laptop and every outlet in the house is grounded.
