Hey
I have a gs73vr-6rf and its been serving me pretty well
My "A" key kept popping out, i found out that two of the four metal hooks that hold on to the keycap scissor mechanism broke off
I ordered the whole keyboard assembly on ebay (because replacing keycap won't fix this problem)
I disassembled it all the way, just to find out that the keyboard assembly is held onto the palmrest/keyboard deck using plastic pegs that has been squished down.
I'm rather disappointed to see this because most laptops (even xps15 9550) had keyboard assembly which was screwed in to the keyboard deck
I am wondering if anyone successfully changed the whole keyboard assembly on gs63 or 73 before
Thanks

You can remove those pegs with an x-acto/utility knife, remove the keyboard, and then using a soldering iron, and a piece of scrap plastic redo all the pegs so they hold the new keyboard in place, or apply a bit of epoxy/superglue with a toothpick to each place.

Yea, i was thinking of using a flush cutter and snipping off the plastic pegs, then reattaching the keyboard to the palmrest using some adhesives like loctite 414.
I would also need to be careful because one drop of superglue that gets to the key switches would result in scrap keyboard
but im concerned on how long the adhesives will last from the heat (it gets around 65-70c near the heatsink fins/edge of the keyboard)
and if the keyboard were to break free from the palmrest, due to constant key presses, it could short the motherboard
keyboard assembly change on gs63/73
