so i have an msi gs 65 8rf and my wifi won't work! have the intel 9560 and no matter what i do it just won't work! I've reinstalled the drivers again and again, tried resetting (by ordering that small button underneath) , tried resetting my pc(which fails for some reason) , tried uninstalling killer drivers which also doesn't affect it, so nothing seems to help and I'm with a laptop without WiFi now! if i can't get help even over here then my last option will be to contact msi and then I'll have to send my laptop to them which will take forever which i absolutely hate since i need my laptop and use it Everytime! so please HELP ME!!!!!!

I added to your thread title to be a bit more specific. Do you see the wifi adapter in your network settings or in network manager? What changed when your wifi stopped working? These answers will help someone else help you troubleshoot further. Cheers

yeah i do see the virtual adapter or whatever it's called and the Intel 9560, when it stops then it shows error code 10 or 20(or some number) for the both of them.

Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk

so i looked up the solutions online for rectifying those errors, did mostly everything but nothing helps.

What changed when you lost the functionality of your wifi card? Were you updating drivers or applying a windows update?

no i wasn't doing either of those, just started to happen suddenly, and as i said when it disconnects it shows the error code 20-21 or something for both the intel 9560 driver and the Microsoft virtual adapter or whatever it's called.

If you post the error codes here though others can be clued in. It's hard to diagnose problems with only very general information -- part of the problem is that you haven't been super specific in what you have tried and that's why I've been asking the questions to try and lay out your troubleshooting efforts so far.

yeah i came across that as well, and i did do it, i selected the optimized defaults option since that was the only option that was remotely close to default bios which i couldn't find at all and it didn't do a thing

Could be a hardware problem. If you have access to another computer, try downloading an ubuntu live image and see if you can get it to work from there.

yeah i guess it could be a problem with the wifi card itself, I'm pretty sure its either that or some software related problem, now i don't know what to do, shall i buy a replacement Intel 9560 or contact msi or no idea what

Try contacting your reseller to see if they'd be willing to send a replacement card. Replacing it isn't hard, the only tricky part is not damaging the antenna connectors.

yeah i know that, I've taken it out and reinserted it multiple times myself, i guess i will have to contact msi, only doubt is what if it's not a card issue and a software issue after all then I'll have to send it away and wont have my laptop for at least 2 weeks probably which will suck big time

Yep, that's why I suggested booting from a usb live image like Ubuntu, which will have the drivers ready to go, to see if your card works there or not. Plus if you got linux up on a live USB I could help you do lower level troubleshooting that you can't accomplish in windows.

You are right about MSI RMA taking time. You could be a month or more without it. If it was me it would be worth the money to buy a different wifi card and try that, or even a USB wifi adapter that can be had a Walmart, rather than lose that much time sending my laptop off. You can get a wifi card online for $30, or a USB version for about $50.

yeah i know but i still issued the rma, I'm sending my laptop tomorrow, when i asked them how much time it would take, they said that since it's only a wifi issue it shouldn't take much time, could get it back in less than 10 days, if it's 10 max then i can somehow live without it, don't want to spend anymore time on trying to fix it, spent at least 8-9 hours trying so no more , hopefully i get it back quick.

so i got back my laptop today, and looks like everything is fine, first thing i did is to disable windows update,. that is what was causing the problem probably, and then i created a system restore point and now i need to install all the softwares again for work which will a be a pain in the butt.

so looks like it's disconnected again and then its working now but im sure it will disconnect again, i don't think restoring or using the recovery option will help since it will keep happening again and again im sure so i think ill just buy the intel 9260 which is basically the same thing but 0.3 gms heavier, hopefully that won't give any problems.

Kaushal, I just see this post, and realized that you just got it back from the repair, you should ask MSI to issue you a 2nd RMA with prepaid shipping label, and replace the WiFi card since the issue is intermittent.

so i got my wifi intel 9260 card today (which was surprisingly quick since it was shipped just yesterday) and as soon as i replaced it with my useless 9560 i booted my laptop and voila stated working without any hiccups, so looks like I'll never have to worry about wifi again, this 9560 card really is a bad one.
