    Quick question got some guy on ebay asking if my 4850 will work on his gx700? tried looking but cant seem to find the answer? anyone can help might sell my card faster!

    alienware would he need the gt627 heatsink?

    I'm not sure, he may need to modify it,

    But i'm not accurate, is the gx700 based on the 1722 chasis?

    I'm hoping someone else posts to save the day! lmao.

    I would say its not compatible, msi never released any other gpus besides the 8600m gt for that model. So I would think its limited to mxm II cards.

    GX700 looks like is based on previous chasis of MS-1722, I don't know what it is. It looks very much like MS-1722ID1. At Notebookcheck is written that it uses 8600M GT because of heating issues. If somebody have disassembly guide for this one ... so we can see is there a place for MXM 2.1 Type III card?!?
    Or maybe the buyer can see that? After he is going to buy it he should be able to do that :)
