    i have a gt72 with gt980m and when i first got the computer it would run wow so smoooth and crisp now its very can get very choppy. Any ideas what going on or how i fix this?

    Probably overheating. When was the last time you cleaned it? How are your ambient temps? What are your current temperatures on both CPU and GPU when gaming?

    How long have you owned the machine? Check heatsink and vent to see if they are clogged or not. Have you done any modifications on the software or hardware?

    i've had it for about a year and half and never cleaned it. But they vents in the back look nice and clean.

    Use a blower or vacuum, because they aren't really visible from the outside.

    Wouldn't sucking with a vacuum damage the fans from making them spin to fast?

    People associate this problem more with blowing via an air compressor; sometimes powerful compressors put out so much PSI that it's thought the force will damage fan bearings.

    I haven't come across this actually happening yet.
