    Hi,

Im probably going to buy the gt627 in the marketplace. I was wondering if MXM HE cards work in the gt627, like the 4870 (This is HE right).

I got this idea into my head after seeing this post:

Although the 4870 would probably need to be undervolted and it would mean no overclocking.

Is anyone using an MXM HE card in their gt627?

You do know that the only way you are getting an 4870 is by getting one from an asus w90.

Anyways, the gt627's default video card (9800m gs) is a HE card.

However, msi laptops have a power limit on their pcie that prevents power-hungry cards like the 9800mGT/260m/280m from working right.

Anything 60W and below will work.

Thanks for the answer. Is that limit coded in the BIOS?
Maybe there is a workaround for it?

Anyway it doesn't matter now since I've changed my mind on which notebook I should get...
