Help! I have a e7405 and i made the mistake of trying to upgrade the ati drivers (running 8.690 at the time) and it completely destroyed any drivers i had at the moment along with making CCC completely inoperable. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling the drivers off the CD that came with the e7405, but it did the same thing. At one point, the screen res reset to 800x600 and dxdiag couldnt detect any hardware (i was running off of integrated graphics, *shudder*). on the verge of suicide, i rebooted and magically my drivers reappeared (8.690, not the new ones) however, CCC is nowhere to be found. i tried updating the drivers in the first place because steam was telling me that CODMW2 was 'unavailable at the moment' and troubleshooting told me to update the drivers. any help is duly appreciated.
and as an aside, i have noticed that certain colors are not rendered properly and appear as static

Hey,
I did exactly the same thing you did, and the same thing happened to me. I went to the msi website to download their ati driver, and it worked for me.
Here is the website
MSI Global ? Computer, Laptop, Notebook, Desktop, Mainboard, Graphics and more
hope this helps -

wat do you mean did you update while you had you're current drivers installed?

thanks foxtwo, i did that as well and it works normally now, except it still has issues rendering certain shades of grey (static) ,
now i have a new problem, the webcam doesnt work, skype wont detect it and there's no drivers on the website (or gx740's). no, im not having a brainfart, i made sure i turned on the webcam before doing so -
Actually, I had the same problem. First check dxdiag (type dxdiag in your windows search via start menu) and see if there is gpu present. If you have the same problem as I had, it'll say gpu is missing or something along this line.
Anyways, I simply restarted the laptop and voila driver update completed. But I have GX740 and I am not sure if that was just for my laptop.
P.S. After carefully reading your post, you do indeed have the same problem as I did. My laptop even changed its screen resolution to lowest like yours did. Just restart the laptop.
