    Hey guys,

I'm trying to connect the EX625 to a Dell 2209WA via the HDMI out, a generic 3m HDMI-DVI cable is being used as the Dell doesn't have HDMI in. I try to cycle through the dislay output via Fn + F2 but it doesn't get detected. Everything is all good if i use the VGA output - VGA input.

Could it be the cable? it's some el cheapo A-Power brand.

I can aso confirm that VGA out works during POST.

Hmm, this is quite strange, it could be the cable as you say but not likely.

Sometimes in the past ive had to completely power down the tv/monitor (switch off on wall) and power off the laptop itself and then powering them both up at the same time, but that was an old machine.

It could also be your drivers so make sure your up to date and so on.

Nothing being shown in display manager?

drivers are upto date. i think it is the cable actually.. i tried it on my LCD TV and it doesn't get detected either... actually that was a lie.. i got it to work onec.. but it turned out all green or something and then turned off.. and sometimes when i plug the hdmi cable in i hear the "detected hardware" sound.. but then shortly after i hear the "hardware removed" sound =\

    i'll return the cable tomorrow

Same issue here with HDMI out. I bought a cheapo walmart HDMI cable. I hooked mine up to an LG flat panel in a hotel during a stay and had no issues through HDMI. I tried HDMI on my 32 inch vizio and no luck. VGA out was excellent though on the vizio and I had no issues.

I think it has more to do with the type of HDMI input of the monitor(s) versus the type of HDMI output on the laptop and whether its HDMI 1.0, versus 1.3, versus 1.4 in order for the laptop to recognize the monitor.

Double check the specs on your monitor(s) as far as the version of HDMI it is setup for.

it's connecting to a DVI port though

edit: just went out and returned the POS cable, tried a replacement on the spot, still didn't work. went to shop next door, paid $2 more for a v1.3 cable and it works!

Good to hear. I may double check my crappy walmart cable as well and replace it with one rated for my Vizio HDMI input.

yeah try a different cable mate.

and just for people's info.. the EX625 can output to both VGA and HDMI out at the same time.. but unfortunately can't triple screen.. unless it is limited to the catalyst drivers?
