Alright...so long story short I tried updating my ccc, but failed miserably and now ccc doesnt even appear on right-click or in start menu.

    ANYWAYS

Is CCC really necessary if you want to game? I've read something like CCC can improve loading in BFBC2 and whatnot, but is NOT having CCC a big difference?

    Thanks to anyone that answers.

Which laptop do you have? I have the GX640 and just updated my CCC/Driver.

First of all you need to uninstall the driver and CCC. It's best to get rid of all traces of the old stuff. Then restart.

You can remove the drivers from the device manager (Start, Right-click Computer, Manage, Device Manager). Navigate to "Display Adapters" and uninstall the ATI Drivers

Install the "Option 1 - Full Software Suite" from this link ATI Catalyst? Mobility Display Driver

    And that should be it.

    Good luck

Go to "Display Adapters" and uninstall the ATI Drivers there.

Or you can go to "uninstall programs" double click on "ATI Catalyst install mananger" and select "Express Uninstall ALL ATI software"

Reboot , run the downloader and get the latest driver.

CCC isn't necessary, the display driver is, although to be fair, CCC is awesome, specially if your into your old school gaming, that thing just rocks :)
