Woohoo. Glad that's straight. More official good news- got the exact dimensions too! Thanks Derek.

The size of the 16F2: Size & Weight Size:
    Size:14.97" (w) x 10.24" (d) x 01.77" (h)
Weight: 7.6 lbs with 9-cell Battery

The size of the 1761: Size & Weight
    Size:16.38" (w) x 11.25" (d) x 02.17" (h)
Weight: 8.6 lbs with 9-cell Battery

Unfortunately, new problem. No more steel series keyboards left and no idea when they will get more. The refresh will be out before I can get one of the 1761's! LOL. But, a big thanks to you all for getting that ironed out about the Dynaudio and getting us the proper dimensions.

Is this only at XOTIC or are the Steelseries keyboards out of stock at GenTech and Power Notebooks as well?

Have you checked PowerPro and Gentech to see if they are out of the SteelSeries Keyboards? As long as they are all willing to give you the same price, I don't see any reason why you wouldn't order from one of them. They are very reputable dealers with great customer service. Are you already dead set on using XoticPC?

Yeah, Gentech is out of the 1761 with 570m and only have the 580m.

PowerPro couldn't come near Xotics price. Hence this thread.

But at least after all of this - I gotten a lot of facts straight and now understand that these machines are indeed all the same. It just comes down to customer service and price as deciding factors.

Oh and of course AVAILABILITY.... LOL

I was holding back on buying from XoticPC a GT780 barebone with GTX580M because my brother wanted it to have KB Backlighting, thanks to this thread, I'll have my relative buy it for me. ASAP ^_^ Thanks people!

Hadn't heardback from xotic until today.
Turns out Now Xotic is out of the units with i7 / 570m.
They will be in at the end of Feb.

I just went ahead with Gentech for my order. He was out of stock on things too but was upfront about it and immediately knew when he could ship more. Ken also was able to match the price at XOTIC. Great Guy, great service. You can tell he has a strong personal interest in the further success of his company. IM EXCITED!

Ken is the man. His customer service is unmatched in the industry (in my opinion). I've actually talked with him twice just to bull$hit since receiving my 1761. You can tell just by talking to him, he knows the computers he sells inside and out. He doesn't beat around the bush and he tells you what upgrades are worth spending your money on and which ones you shouldn't.
