    Hi all,

I have a 7970M from a Dell laptop with the correct vBIOS to work in my MSI GT680 (MS-16F2) (non-Enduro).

I couldn't get the right heat sink and instead will be modifying another 3 heat pipe heat sink.

The only 3 pipe heat sink I could find on eBay for the MS-16F2 was for a NVIDIA GTX 580M (or GTX675M).
The RAM layout for that GPU is different to the 7970M but with enough Dremelling and various thermal pads I hope that all will be well.

Before I start Dremeling away I want to check that the heat sink and GPU will screw together and I find that the thread of the screws in the heat sink don't seem to mate with the Dell X bracket on the 7970M.

So I guess I need to get the right X bracket or can I just get some screws to suit the Dell X bracket ?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Cheers

    MSI don't use X brackets.

    Thanks Meaker,
I need to look more closely at the laptop.
So I just need to remove the existing X bracket from the 7970M and all should be good. Assuming I can Dremel well enough.

Or you could get the 7970M/290X MSI heatsink.
