After i finally set up all the driver the SSD etcetc...
I started making some stress test (lier i was playing Age of Conan for 2 hours)

surprising the gpu temp was quite low around 80C only...
(actually my desktop gpu get way hotter playing that game with 23556546 fans easily reach 90C)

but my cpu temp was a lil higher then expected nothing to worry me
but I was hoping to get 70C more or less but instead is as hot as the GPU stable on 80C

as i said is not a big deal i know laptop cpu get hot,
I was wondering if i should perhaps replace the thermo paste

Since i got a i5-540 they actually already replaced the thermo paste manually and hopefully they should have done a decent job...
perhaps the i5-540 tend to get a lil warmer then the i5-450 i will investigate on line

i just wonder if you guys have any opinion or advice of any sort

well age of conan is a mmo which tends to be more cpu reliant that most games so that could be one reason, also rememberr you're probably looking at peak temps. CPUs like to fluctuate A LOT in terms of temperature. While my cores like to sit in the low to mid 50s on low load its not surprising to ever see one jump to 65 and back down again.

The Tjmax is 110*C until it gets near there you dont need to waste your time on temps, there are tons and $hitloads of games to be played. ;)

yeah i am not really worry i used to have a laptop that easily go 90/100C and lasted 3 year...

I was just wondering because on my desktop same game my E8400 with oc 4ghz dont go over 55C while my GTX470 OC800/1600 go 90/95

so i was surprise to see the cpu that high (even because while i monitor the cpu usage rarely the total is more then 40/45% and looking at each single core one max reach 60%

that why i though it was strange that the cpu got so hot compared to gpu

but as i said 80C doesnt worry me i was just couriouse

    You're running a e8400 @4Ghz on air cooling?

is not that hard i know many people that does it... of course depend a lot from the chip himself... but i have a good case Antec180 a good motherboard P5Qdeluxe and a custom fan ZALMAN, CNPS8700 i actuallly reach 4.3ghz but my memory didnt work good i had to lower too much the CL and still often was instable

so i got back at 4 ghz and honestly i never saw my cpu go over 60C
