Has anyone heard any news about whether or not MSI will be joining with everyone else in offering free Windows 7 upgrades for laptops bought from today on? I'm desperately close to buying a GT627-218 after reading about it on this forum for months but I'm holding off to make sure I can get the Windows 7 upgrade... don't want to pay $50 (or more) when Windows 7 (which I love in RC form) comes out if I don't have to!

If I upgrade my OS (something I've never done before), would all my stuff stop working until I updated the drivers? Or if I installed a 64bit OS over the 32bit one, would that erase everything as well, needing drivers and everything? Are there any dangers/annoyances involved with changing a computer's OS?
