So I had an issue when first installing RC1 back in June. This was resolved, as my memory serves correctly, by setting the bios to IDE compatible.

Right now, I am unable to do a fresh install of the full retail W7 64bit on my GT627 despite the "old fix". Install works correctly, and the system just hangs up during bootup.

    Help!

    Thanks

Tried to go back to 32bit W7 and now when I try to install video drivers for the 9800gs I get a message telling me that there isn't a video card supported by the software. In fact, W7 32bit does not see my video card at all (no device manager, nothing).

On the bright side, the SATA drive settings in bios (ACHI or IDE) don't mess with 32bit...

Are you using the latest drivers from MSI's website?

I'm using Win 7 Ultimate RTM 64 bit just fine.
And windows 7 has generic drivers to install AHCI, when you are done installing 7 then you can install the proper storage driver from intel's website.

Doesn't sound like a driver issue if the card isn't showing up in device manager.

Is there a setting in the bios to enable PCI devices or something?

IF it doesn't boot up at all it can't be driver related .. try loading the Default settings for the bios . if that doesn't work , remove your cmos battery and wait like 5 mins , then pop everything back in again and give it a go (don't forget to remove the power cord and the main battery when doing so)

    OOPS ! i missed your 2nd post ! what i posted was for the 64bit ........

hey guys thanks for chipping in. i got the video drivers to work, but i'm in a 32bit environment, can't get 64bit to work. have tried fresh installs with various configurations of sata (ide: enhanced, compatible, achi on/off) without luck...

just stays on the windows startup screen forever and can't get into desktop.

    any ideas?

    thanks!

Were you able to get the SCM running correctly? MSI only has 32-bit drivers for that, and I've heard it doesn't always work properly (hangs).

If you have a source for 64-bit drivers, please share.

    Thanks!

Do you know the functionality of it ? it's for the touch/eco sensor key .. you don't need to do anything after installing it.
32bit drivers works fine on 64bit system.
