Will the sager/clevo 7970m fit in the MSI GX660R ??

Hello people,
Tryed to google a bit, so I wouldn't post a thread with an answered question already but just found a few guys here on forum potting an dell 7970m in msi barebone which woked fine but dindt find any who tryed the sager/clevo version of the card.
The reason I'm asking is cause I have a new 150EM with a 7970m but theres still my older GX660R with a 5870m sitting here on my table. I wanna try this out just of curiosity cause the clevo units suffers a lot performance due to new enduro tehcnology and some games are underutilized. Tryed the 180W power adapter and it fits in the msi.

So:
-Will the sager card work in the MSI GX660R?
-Would it require some sort of bios or hetsink modification?- I saw the heatsink modification guide here but that wasa a dell card.

If it would be just plug and play I would try it tonight and post some pictures if not I dont wanna mess with the bios or hetsink couse I'm going to sell that msi next week.
If this was already answered sorry for spamming and please link me to some answers.

 

- No, you need a special vBIOS with Enduro OFF to make it work in your GX660.
- Yes you need to modify the heatsink, the Dell and Clevo 7970m are exactly alike - you need to grind and put the pads as per suggested in the picture.

Just recently i have bought a 7970m from Eurocom canada.

7970m was a Clevo card flashed with non enduro vbios.

My friend have GX660R so we pulled a triger and decided to put that thing in.

I forgot that i do NOT need a x-bracket for 7970m because GX660R has its own bracket just onder the card, so it was a bit of a pain to remove the glued-in x-bracket.

So remember to get a card without it, because removing x-bracket is a very difficult operation if you do not have proper tools like heat gun Etc.

So we installed 1mm thermal pads, before that some heatsink adjustments ( with dremel tool ).

And the card is essentialy Plug&Play !

Temps in diablo 3 during gaming with 920XM (standard NO oc) were at about 65-70'C and the 7970m idle temp is about 34-37'C

AWSOME upgrade for my friend as he had 5870m so about 3 Times the performance Gain !

I have to take intoaccount the bios to run well.
